Hiking, canoeing, wildlife watching, hot springs. The Rockies deliver adventure in every form. And the drive between Banff and Jasper on the Icefields Parkway is one of the most scenic in the world. The Canadian Rockies prove that you don’t need an ocean to have a beach-like experience. The lakes are enough.
Costa Rica
Rainforest, cloud forest, volcanoes, and two coasts — Pacific and Caribbean. Manuel Antonio has beaches backed by jungle full of monkeys and sloths. Arenal has an active volcano and hot springs. Monteverde has cloud forests and zip lines.
You can surf in the morning and hike a volcano in the afternoon. The biodiversity is absurd. Costa Rica is the adventure spot that refuses to specialize. It does everything, and it does it well.
